The spelling must have shifted - I've just had a look in the Amsterdam and
Rotterdam phone books, and it does not occur in this form in either city.
You could try asking the dutch Central Bureau for Genealogy - go here
http://www.cbg.nl/ and click on "english" - if they have anything.

As regards Stevens, which you also asked about, it is VERY common. You'll do
better if you're more specific.
