Sorry I sent this again, but all the old messages that I am receiving at
the moment did not include this one. I have also sent it to the
Oegstgeest Archives, address thanks to Mr Frans Rip. Otherwise no
reactions.
Have a good one, Frans.

Hi there everyone,
Glad to see the Newsgroup is working fine again, so
here a couple of questions that I have been waiting to solve.
My GrGrGrandfather Klaas Freerks Tulp born 27 Sep 1814 in Appingedam
died 17 Nov 1846, at age 32, in Oegstgeest. Having wondered why he was
in that part of the country I got a hold of his death certificate. To my
surprise he was a listed as a "militair" and he died in house # 158.
The next surprise was that one of the witnesses was a
"gevangenbewaarder". So was he in some kind of military prison.? Also at
age 32 could he have been a professional soldier ? His death cert. also
lists his parents but not the fact that he was married and had a couple
of kids in Appingedam and later Loppersum where his wife died.
Also in this same time frame a lot of soldiers died, at the same address
in Oegstgeest, some days one, some days more than one, all witnessed by
either one or two prison guards, some type of epidemic ?
I could have sent this straight to Mr Wim Hoogerdijk, but thought it
could be of interest to other people as well. Thanks for any answers and
Have a good one, Frans.
