There is an entry @ Ellis Island (June 2 1906)

Looks that they had a son AUGUST FUNK(6) at that time. The father was
obviously already living in Baltimore (see address) And the mother was
traveling with her parents.

Maybe someone can check het Bevolkings Register (civil registration)
of Rotterlam 1899-1906 for you.
