In 1662 werd de heerlijkheid Kumtich tot baronie verheven door
koning Filips IV. Daarmee wilde hij een van zijn Waalse officieren,
Henri Alphonse de Vicq, belonen voor zijn moedig gedrag.
In 1662 the manor of Kumtich was elevated to the status of barony
by King Philips IV. In this way he wanted to recompense one of his
Walloon officers, Henri Alphonse de Vicq, for his courageous behaviour.

So you must be descended from him.

Verlening van brieven van legitimatie door J.J. Rochussen, gouverneur-
generaal van Indië, d.d. Buitenzorg, 8 april 1847, aan de dochter van
Philippe Gustave H.G. baron de Vicq de Cumplich, majoor van het Oost-
Indische leger, geboren op 5 maart 1834 te Weltevreden uit de
Chinese vrouw Ciowé.

So probably his full name was Philippe Gustave Henri Ghislain Baron
de Vicq de Cumptich, major in the east Indian Army.
In this paper legitimation is granted to his daughter, so he was not
married to this Chinese woman when this daughter was born in 1834.

distant relatives descended from Philippe Henri Gustave Ghislain
Baron de Vicq de Cumptich, no mother mentioned - I think I have
to change the order to Philippe Gustave Henri Ghislain, the mother
will be the Chinese woman.
These distant cousins look very Indonesian: see the pictures of the

Kumtich is in Belgium, near Tienen.
As this family belongs to nobility, it must be possible to find much
more about them.
