If all else fails get yourself a bunch of different e.mail
addresses and keep applying for a 14 day trial.
Until they get their act together, that is.
You did try to subscribe to http://ancestry.co.uk/ and not
http://www.ancestry.com/ I take it?

Subject: [Gen-Comp-Tips] Subscription to Ancestry.com

: Hello list
:
: About six weeks ago I tried to subscribe to Ancestry for the UK
and Ireland collection. The 14-day trial went OK, but then my
application for the first annual subscription was declined. When
I queried this I was told first of all that I could place my
order by telephone. As this would have meant passing my credit
card details over the phone, I refused. After a couple more
emails I was told that Ancestry currently has a known (software)
problem with accepting credit cards from outside north America (I
am in the UK), and they advised me to keep applying on line in
the hope that I would finally be accepted. They said they could
not undertake to alert me when the problem was fixed. I have
checked almost daily for the past month but nothing has changed.
:
: Anybody experienced a similar problem and found a way round it?
:
: Many thanks
