Subject: BO(E)BERG, Hannover (general)

I've been stymied on one branch of my family. Have a Caspar Boberg and
an Anna Elizabeth Meisner, born 1844 and 1845, with both having parents
from Hannover (per the 1880 Census of Western Pennsylvania).

I've got a ship for Caspar now (coming into New York). But nothing else
to go on.

Aside from anyone researching Boberg (which would be wonderful), any
suggestions on how to go further back (LDS IGI has nothing on either)?
They were Catholic. I didn't find parents names from obituaries. I
think I know that Hannover is a BIG place, so writing to the "Katholisch
Pfarramt - Hannover" is too general. Am I likely to find anything on the
ships passenger list to help? On my other relatives, the passenger list
was useful to see who was in the party, and what they brought with them,
and their occupation, but that was it. Is that what is typically on a
passenger list?

Thanks for any suggestions - and don't NOT suggest something because it
appears obvious; I've been at this off and on for 15 years and
occasionally find myself skipping things I used to do as a matter of
course!
