You seem to forget that those 'purists' as you call them (I guess you
refer to Jim's FAQ about unreasonable queries) wade through tons of
messages each and every day. If most of the messages are queries of
people who obviously give a shit on what more experienced people tell
them, don't expect them to answer at all. The group will degrade to a
bunch of newbies because the more experienced spend their time for more
useful things.
Ever wondered why the number Germans on this board is so low? It's not
only the language, but also the quality of questions on this group which
make many of us go away rather quickly. When I started to participate 2
years ago, I had hoped for more than 'Any Schmidts out there', 'Where is
Prussia' etc.
BTW: Of course I have Schmidts, too.
