Subject: Where are these Places today (Prussia 1760's)
Date: Fri, 1 Nov 1996 19:08:09 GMT
My Family came from Oberbeisham, Utergies and Muehlbach in Prussia in 1764. (I'm not sure of the Spelling of these places.) My Aunt just says Nothern Germany.
Does anyone know if the spelling is accurate? If there was a war or group migration during that period of history?
I know that they came via the Cowes, The Isle of Wright in Enlgand, to Rotterdam, and then to Philidelphia. They settled in Lykens Valley, Lancaster County, PA.
I'm guessing that religion may have had something to do with it. They were Church of the Brethern for several generations IN G and GG-Grandparents.
Whew. Genealogy is old and current languages, religion, history, migration paths, documentation, folklore.....a puzzle for those who were born with too many questions:)
