Dear Alan,
I ran into a book entitled "The Past and Present of LaSalle County
Illinois" published in 1877 and reprinted for the LaSalle Co. Historical
Society in 1992. I was trying to find or verify the name of my
ggrandfathers first wife. My grandmother had always held that his two
wives had been sisters, so her name should have been Hau. This book
lists her name as Mary Frank.......I think it is a typo as my
ggrandfathers' name was Frank Knecht. But I have not found her death
certificate or a record of thier marriage or any of her naturalization
papers, or really anything legal about her - yet. If you ever see a
connection to her or the IL area please let me know, tnx,don.
