What type of tradesmen would be Guild members ?

For example, would a taylor living in a rural villiage or small
town in East Brandenburg be a Guild member ?

Since 1810 there is the "Gewerbefreiheit" in Prussia which means that
anybody who had the skills could establish where he wants.
Despite this most craftsmen still belonged to guilds during the whole
19th century. It is quite likely that you find him in the respecitve
guild records.

And yes, there are still guild records around. If you talk about
Prussia east of the rivers Oder/Neisse you should first check at the
statearchives.
