Ron,

try www.volksbund.de and see if they have information on your wife's
brother. Their Web-Page is in German but I think one can figure out how it
works. If you cannot find your wife's brother's name on the Web-Page you can
send them an e-mail and they will look at records not yet on the Internet. I
found a cousin of mine on the www.volksbund.de who served on a sub-marine
and who perished in 1944.
