Hello Gary,

ZUNAME means "added name" (added to the first name), FAMILIENNAME means
"family´s name".
Both, ZUNAME and FAMILIENNAME, are in English "surname". A family is father,
mother and chil(dren).

The GESCHLECHTSNAME is the name of the house.
A Geschlecht are the agnatic continuous successions of fathers and sons.

And a SIPPENVERBAND, in English "clan", is a Geschlecht including also all
female ancestors.
