The pic does appear to be be smeary, no matter what software I try. But
parts seems to read:

JOHANNES BEST
bei erde gelassen (laid to rest/buried)
den april 1884? (in April 1884 - date smudged)

alt worden 36 Jahr, 9 Monate u(nd) 30 Tage. (words hard to read, but age is
clear - 36 years, 9 months, 3) days)
