there neither is a "Grottenwell" nor "Grothenwell" in the German
Phonedirectory. www.telefonbuch.de
Whats about the Parish register of marriages?
If he was a mariner find out a ship name or shipping company where he was
signed on. (old photographs, uniforms, letters, postcards or other seamans
stuff)
