Hi everyone -
My story is very similar to Keith's - and I have the same questions. I have
been doing a one-name search on the GODBOUTs for more years than I can
remember.
I write to several Godbouts and receive info. But don't know how to really
"share" the info from other Godbouts. I have published a lot of the info on
the web, but since not everyone has web access (hard to believe :-) ), I
want to start a newsletter.
>I know others have done this before. How did you get started? How was
>your newsletter received by family members you had not been in contact
>with for SEVERAL years? Did you introduce the newsletter with a letter
>or did you just send it with out any notice? Do you charge
>subscription prices? What is the content?
Besides the above questions from Keith, I have more.....
Other than distant family members, who else do you send the newsletter to?
(Doing a one name search, I find several folks I never considered family
members.) What information do you include in the first newsletter? How do
you get others to submit photos and stories, etc.?
This is a project I am willing to undertake. I'm just very nervous.
Is there a sample family newsletter somewhere on the web to take a look at?
Does anyone have a copy of their first newsletter that they would be
willing to share?
Thank you,
Cindy Godbout
