Come join the Florida State Genealogical Society (FSGS) as we host our 28th
Annual Conference. This exciting learning experience will be held 12 - 13
November 2004 in Melbourne, Florida at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place
(200 Rialto Place).

Our featured speaker, Sharon Tate Moody, CGRSsm, will present four (4)
exciting lectures you will not want to miss. Ms. Moody is a well-known
national genealogical lecturer. As a retired law enforcement officer she
brings a unique perspective into finding evidence and genealogical proof for
cases. Her topics will be:

"With All My Worldly Goods I Thee Endow"
"Airing the Family Laundry: Secrets Revealed in Court Records"
"If Living Were A Crime . Evidence Your Ancestors Left at the Scene"
"No Ring? No License? Are they Married? Applying the Common Law to Marriage"

In addition to the featured speaker, we will have Amy Larner Giroux, CGsm,
Ann Mohr Osisek, Drew Smith, George Morgan, Donna Moughty, Miriam
Gan-Spalding, Mary P. Parker and Elaine Powell. All total, we will be
providing the opportunity to participate in 19 lectures about a variety of
topics such as Census/Occupations - Ethnic Research - Genealogy Basics -
Florida Research - Immigration Records -- Society Resources - Dating
Photos - Land Records - Organization/Methodology - Document Preservation -
Internet Resources.

Our Friday night banquet will honor individuals who have documented their
Florida pioneers through the Florida Pioneer Descendant Program and
certificates will be presented to qualifying descendants of pioneers who
settled in Florida prior to statehood on 3 March 1845. In addition, awards
will be given to individuals who have exemplified their dedication to
genealogy. We are also pleased to announce that the banquet speaker will be
Jim Robison, Florida author, lecturer and contributor of Central Florida
history to the Orlando Sentinel.
