Dear Associates,

For the past many years I have been searching for the parents of my great grand father, Evariste V. Fontaine.
Evariste was born in Canada (Quebec) and 9 Nov 1847. He came to the U.S. around 1865, and married Sarah Jane Colvin in Dec 1868.
Because of the Chicago fire there seems to be no record of his marriage, other than an announcement in a Chicago newspaper.
He was listed in the 1900 federal census in Detroit, with his family.
I have Evariste's death cert, but only names Canada as birth place, and no parents names
If anyone can shed some light on this illusive gentleman please let me know.
