Am looking for any and all information on the name CASSIN.

The name is relatively rare in terms of numbers of people
carrying the name, but is present throughout Europe ... particularly
in France, where it is primarily a Jewish name, and in Ireland (County Louth)
where it is decidedly Catholic. It appears that most of the American
CASSINs are Irish. In Spain, CASSIN is predominantly Sephardic,
as are most hispanic CASSINS (few) in Latin America - principally
in Colombia. In Italy, although the name CASSIN is not common,
the plural form CASSINI is very common.

There have also been suggestions of Moorish origins as well (Al Kazin).

Any and all information would be most appreciated.
