Subject: Tracing a Jacobite exile

I have attempted to find whether Sir Alexander Falconer (c.1636-1719), who
lived at Saint-Germain-en-Laye after 1691 and held the position of
Quartermaster General to the Jacobite pretenders, King James II and III, left
descendants in France in the male line. He had children named James,
Archibald, and others. Archibald was a student at the Scots College at Douai
and probably became a priest.
I have checked one or two of the four possible notarial minutes of
Saint-Germain, without success. There doesn't seem to be anything in Cabinet
d'Hozier.
Should I assume, because no arms are found in the Cabinet d'Hozier, this
family died out?
Thanks for any help.
