Dear Tom
According to my map of central Mass, Oakdale is a village in West Boylston,
on the shores of the Wachusetts resevoir. On a general map of Massachusetts,
this would appear just north of the city of Worcester, where many French
canadians settled. The town is in an area of central Mass stretching
from Fitchburg in the North to Southbridge in the South that
attracted many French Canadians settlers after the Civil War.
The Massachusetts State Archives in Boston has all the Birth, Death and
Marriage records indexed and available from about 1860 to 1895.
