I don't have any information on your forebears, sorry.
But there is a curiosity here that must be explored.
A whole bunch of years ago I was in Chateauroux for a while. As I
recall, the province (Departement) is le Berry. And people from that
province, I think are called "Berichons". I may not have all the
spellings right, but you get the idea.
So, when I saw your name coupled with your query, I was somewhat
amused. Or did you already know all that?
