Julie,
All St-Georges in Quebec are descendants of Laporte ancestors, as are most
of them in New England, if not all. Most of them descend from Jacques de
Laporte dit St-Georges, the first Laporte ancestor recorded in New France,
even though a second Laporte dit St-Georges with current ancestors arrived
later.
Let me know any links you are looking for and I will look it up in our
30,000 name computerized data bank of Laporte/St. Georges ancestors.
Please communicate with me by PERSONAL e-mail ("") as I am
no longer monitoring GEN-FR-L or GEN-FF-L on a regular basis.

(Our Association maintains a membership, holds
annual rallies, publishes a quarterly bilingual
bulletin, a genealogical dictionary for Laporte/
St-Georges families and a soon-to-come
collective family album for those families who wish
to contribute. It has also created a computerized
database of Laporte/St-Georges ancestors now
containing more than 30,000 names.)
Our next annual reunion will be held on Saturday,
September 19, 1998 near Drummondville, Quebec,
Canada in an historical village with costumed "villagers".
All Laporte's & St. Georges descendants and friends
are cordially invited.
