While I do not have on hand the answer to the question concerning Jacques's
marriage, it is important to remember that several pionneers St- Hyacinthe -
including the Bernier, Couillard, Langelier, etc, came from - or near,
Cap-St-Ignace, near Montmagny. The local seigneur was Hyacinthe Delorme, and
on his acquiring a new seigneurie (Yamaska, I think) where St. Hyacinthe is
located, granted new lands to his Cap-St-Ignace "censitaires".
There are many chances that the roots of several old St. Hyacinthe families
are to be found in the Lower St. Lawrence parishes.
