Denis:

I would have sent privately but the e-mail address you used is protected.

Your exchange with John caught my eye and caused me to look at one of the
lines I set aside for a rainy day or post-retirement.

The "speculations" in your web page suggests Antoinette's parents and points
to the de Haraucourt branch of the de Longueval line. The published lineage
connects that branch to the de Vaulx branch and thence to Arthus Sire de
Longueval who lived in the 11th Century.

However, your "speculations" contains that nettlesome little phrase
"peut-etre" when dealing with Antoinette's parents. Your post to John
indicates that proof is still being sought about some aspect of Antoinette's
ancestry.

Is it her parents that remain uncertain or some other part of the published
lineage? You indicated that research is ongoing so I guess I'll put this
line back in the files until clarification is published.

Like others who have completed their French Canadian Lines back to Old
France, I have several lines that indicate minor noble ranks and seigneurial
holdings while other have surnames that originate in regions where those
surnames belong to notables--such as Antoinette de Longueval of Picardie.

As I listed those various families I thought to research them
alphabetically. The d'Abancourt fell at the top of the list and I identified
the holdings in the Cabinet des Titres for the various d'Abancourt. The BNF
wrote that that material must be sent for conservation before it can be
filmed and that it will be sometime in the first half of 2003 before I can
get a copy. I suppose that holds some hope that no one has looked into the
d'Abancourt for a while so I will not be duplicating any recent research.

Ah well, next on my list is the Fille du Roi Marie Boileau, daughter of Rene
ecuyer Sieur de la Goupilliere of Chatellerault in Poitou and his wife
Joachin Seran. Seran seems uncommon--althgough I found a lot on Brie de
Serrant but Stephen White, writing about Marie's sister Marguerite in
Acadie, gives the mother as Joachine Ferrand. Ferrand seems very common in
Poitou and might be worth pursuing.

Mike
