Subject: Surname Pesteise

I have come across the surname of Pesteise in my family tree, it was
my great great grandmother's maiden name born circa 1826, someone has
suggested this maybe Spanish. Can anyone help. The lady was actually
born in Cheshire England, and as yet I do not have her marriage
certificate to get her father's name.
