And this assault was the reason for why Rollo (or Gange-Rolf as I prefer)
left Norway. Snorris write that the king was very angry at Rolf
because of this raid, and told him to leave the country and never return.
In the earlier days, when there were several small kings inn Norway
fighting each other, assault on other parts of the country was common. Rolv
came from a long journey with fighing and plundering, and was maybe
attempted to do a quick attack when he came to Vika. Snorri describes
Rolvs mothers attempt to talk king Harald to let him stay in the country,
without success.
