There are two adjacent parishes in north central Warwickshire called
Nether Whitacre and Upper Whitacre - in Latin documents they were
sometimes called Whitacre Inferior (=nether or lower) and Superior
(=upper). If you can find the volume of the Victoria County History of
England covering this part of the county - I'm not even sure it's been
published yet - there would be a detailed account of the descent of the
manor, and your Sir Simon should be there.
