I have a questio and a coment.
Question: Am I to undersatand by the indentation pattern that Richard I, D
of Normandy was the father of Robert count of Evreux, bishop of Rouen, who
was the father of Richard count of Evreux who married Godehildis ? This
may be a stupid question :-), but weren't bishops celibate during this time
period ? More importantly, I've never seen the parents of Robert listed in
a source before. What is your source ?
Comment: Agnes is said by several sources to have married Simon de
Montfort (d. 1087), son of Amurai de Montfort (living in 1022) and
Bertrade. They had at least two children - Amurai (living in 1123), who
was the ancestor of the famous Simon de Mntfort, Earl of Leicester, so
influential in the 13th century, and Bertrade, who married Fulk V, Count of
Anjou, and was thus an ancestress of King Henry II of England.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life ! () Jim
