This could not be said to describe my own basis for the statement that
Richard I was homosexual, however. In fact, one of the first accounts I
read of his alleged sexuality was published in a book called "From
Jonathan to Gide", in print some forty years ago or so (don't have it in
front of my nose, hence the uncertainty); which, in any case, far
predates the political lobby to which you, with some justification,
allude.
