Elisabeth Folkes, heiress of Simon Folkes, married Sir Thomas Berney of
Kirby Bedon. Elisabeth was a co-heiress of Samuel Hanson of the Island
of Barbadoes and thus came into the family a plantation of that place.
My question is: When Sir Thomas Berney came into ownership of that
plantation, is that cause for him to change his name or that of his
children so that his heir became known as Sir Hanson Kirby Bedon and become
the heir of Sir thomas Berney and the lineal descent of Roger de Berney,
the twenteith male heir? Very uncertain of the customs of the time.
Anyone with knowledge of Folkes, Sir Hansom Kirby Bedon of Barbadoes?

many thanks for help is the knotty probem RWB
