I am seeking a bit of ancestry for ROGER, LORD STRANGE OF KNOCKYN (County
Salop), whose daughter Lucy m. Sir William, fifth Baron Willoughby de
Eresby. I have no dates on any of these people (other than that Lord
Willoughby's son-in-law was MP 1429-50 and d. 1452).
I have checked Weis's AR7 and find only unconnected bits, such as
references to Isabel, daughter of Eubolo le Strange of Knockyn; John
Lestrange IV of Knockyn (d. by 1275/6) and John Lestrange V of Knockyn (d.
by Aug. 8, 1309)...
I believe Roger would be much further along in time, probably flourished
around 1390 or so.
Weis refers to books such as "Le Strange Records" by Hamon le Strange
(1916) and "Observations on the LeStranges" by C. L'Estrange Ewen (1946).
But neither of these are available to me.
Thanks for any tidbits you may have to offer,
