Camfield asks: "Do you happen to know how Robert de
Vere descends from Alberic de Vere . . .?"
1. Alphonso of Ghenses Count (About 1000 - )
2. Alberic de VERE (Circa 1030 - 1088)
& Beatrice de GAND (Circa 1040 - )
3. Alberic \ Aubrey de VERE (Circa 1062 - 15 May 1141)
& Adeliza de CLARE (Circa 1090 - )
4. Aubrey de VERE Earl of Oxford (Circa 1120 - 26 Dec 1194)
& [m. 1162/3] Agnes \ Lucia de ESSEX (1151/1152 - )
5. Robert de VERE Earl of Oxford (Circa 1164 - Oct 1221)
& Isabel BOLEBEC (Circa 1164 - 3 Feb 1245)
6. Hugh de VERE Earl of Oxford (Circa 1184 - before 23 Dec 1263)
& [m. after 11 Feb 1222/3] Hawise de QUINCY
(Circa 1184 - after 3 Feb 1263)
7. Robert de VERE (1240 - Sep 1296)
& [m. before 22 Feb 1252] Alice de SANFORD
(Circa 1230 - ? 7 Sep 1317)
8. Joan de VERE (Circa 1264 - 21 Nov 1293)
& [m. circa 1285] William de WARENNE (1256 - Dec 1286)
Generations 3 through 8 can be found in Weis, Ancestral
Roots, lines 246 and 60; and in Magna Carta Surities lines 154,
120, and 121. I haven't rechecked Cockayne, vol. x, under
"Oxford." Tidbits in Schweinicke, ES, iii, 629, 696, and 708.
The first generations originally came from Michel Call. I can
recheck the first two generations if it matters.
