Hmm . . . . you might be onto something there. On the other hand, the
sagas claim that Svein's father Jarl Ulf was the son of Thorgils
Sprakalegg, said to be son of Styrbjorn hin Sterki, son of Olaf, King at
Uppsala, brother of Erik the Victorious. If Svein really was descended from
Swedish kings in the male-line, it is conceivable that there were Olafs
or Eriks among the offspring of Styrbjorn and Sprakalegg after whom Svein
might have named his sons . . . . It all depends on how much stock we
can place in the saga pedigree of Jarl Ulf.
