Please forgive me if this post appeared about a week ago, but as I have
seen no response, and have experienced considerable difficulty in
receiving mail during the latter part of last week, I am posting it again,
in the hope that it didn't make it before... Thanks,
Ralph Holloway

Subject: de HILTON, FITZRANDOLPH, WYVILLE...

I am told that a shield similar to that of Sir Robert Hilton, Lord of
Swyne, Durham, rests on the Fitz Randolph tomb in Spennithorne Church,
Yorkshire, as well as for a Robert de Hilton summoned to Parliament 1295.
Does anyone know of any genealogical connection between the Fitz Randolphs
and these Hiltons?
I have roughly the same question for the surname WYVILLE. Agnes,
daughter of Sir Ralph Fitz Randolph and Elizabeth Scrope married Marmaduke
Wyville of Little Burton, Co. York. Were there any other connections
between these families, or with the surname PIGOT (Bigod??)? Thanks,
Ralph Holloway
