The mother of Rudolf II of Burgundy was Willa whose origins are uncertain,
but it is commonly thought that she was dau. of Boso king of Burgundy by an
unknown 1st wife and not by his 2nd wife Ermengarde dau. of Louis II. Willa
is not given as a daughter of Boso and Ermengarde by K F Werner in "Die
Nachkommen Karls des Grossen" in W Braunfels (General ed) *Karl der Grosse:
Lebenswerk und Nachleben* Band V (1965). [ES III/4:736, II:189 corrected in
III/1 in the Correction section at the end; E Hlawitschka "Die
Thronkandidaturen von 1002 und 1024. etc" in K Schmid (ed). *Reich und
Kirche vor dem Institurstreit* (Thorbecke, Sigmaringen, 1985) 55].
