The name is spelt as above with the first s-acute. His first name
has no diacritics.
The only certain royal connection for Kosciuszko is the fact that
he is buried in the royal cathedral in Cracow, alongside most Polish
kings. Otherwise, his ancestors were rather middle level of nobility.
This marriage:
8) Kostiuszko (Konstanty), sedzia i horodniczy kamieniecki, + bef. 1561
x Anna kn. Olszanska
seems quite unlikely - but if he was really married to an Olszanska
(Holszanska) then there would be royal ancestors. But we do not know
which branch of that family she came from (if at all). Another
female from that family was the queen of Poland - wife of Wladyslav
Jagiello, the first king from the Jagiellonian dynasty.
This marriage is not mentioned in any other source - but on the
other hand, the fact that this person's given name was afterwards
used as the surname of the family may indicate that he was
remembered for his "high marriage".
Best regards,
Rafal
