I would be interested to know the source for the dau Elizabeth by
Elizabeth.
My ancestor John Browne, whilst sketching a map of Galway Town, in 1583 was
described as servant to Sir Christopher Hatton. By 1585 he was working
closely with Sir John Perrott in the subjugation of the Irish in county
Mayo and was made Sheriff of Mayo in that year by him.
So there is the possibility that Elizabeth Hatton met Sir John Perrott in
Ireland, however a few years ago I did read through Sir Christopher
Hatton's correspondence, which has been published (I think details are in
DNB), but as far as I remember there was no evidence from them that Hatton
ever went to Ireland, or mention of John browne.
