In response to that consummate Dutch-Australian gentleman, genealogist
and raconteur, Leo van de Pas, I post the following information
concerning the ancestry of Congressman Robert Linlithgo Livingston
[IV] [Republican, Louisiana] who will reportedly be the next Speaker
of the House of Representatives, in January 1999, and next in line of
succession as President of the United States to Vice President Al
Gore.

I have listed the direct patrilineal line.

1. Congressman Robert Linlithgo LIVINGSTON [IV] was born in 1943.

SECOND GENERATION

2. Robert Linlithgo LIVINGSTON [III] was born in 1921. He died in
1971.

THIRD GENERATION

4. Robert Linlithgo LIVINGSTON [II] was born in 1876. He died in
1925.

FOURTH GENERATION

8. Lieutenant Robert Linlithgo LIVINGSTON [I] was born in 1834. He
died in 1877.

FIFTH GENERATION

16. Henry Walter LIVINGSTON [II] was born on 21 Jan 1798. He died on
19 Feb 1848 in Paris, France.

SIXTH GENERATION

32. Henry Walter LIVINGSTON was born in 1768. He died on 22 Dec
1810. He was graduated from Yale College in 1786 and was a lawyer.
Member of Congress from 1803 to 1807.

SEVENTH GENERATION

64. Walter LIVINGSTON was born in 1740 in Clermont Manor House,
Clermont, New York. He died in 1797.

EIGHTH GENERATION

128. Colonel Robert LIVINGSTON was born in 1708 in Albany, New York.
He died on 27 Nov 1790.

NINTH GENERATION

256. Colonel Philip LIVINGSTON was born in 1686 in Albany, New York.
He died in Feb 1749 in New York, New York.

TENTH GENERATION

512. Robert LIVINGSTON was born in 1654. He died in 1728. He is the
Immigrant [1673] and the Gateway Ancestor of Royal Descent [GARD] in
this Livingston line.

Bob Livingston and George Herbert Walker Bush, 41st President of the
United States, are 8th cousins through the Livingston connection.
There may be closer relationships.
