In table 110, p. 485, of Cyrille Toumanoff's _Les Dynasties de la
Caucasie Chretienne_ (Roma, 1990), Leon V is given as the son of
Bardas/Vard, prince Gnouni, patrician, killed in battle in 791. No
further ancestors are given. A note refers to Toumanoff's _Studies in
Christian Caucasian History_, pp. 200-201, n. 228.

Another resource is David Turner's article "The Origins and Accession of
Leo V (813-820)," _Jahrbuch der Osterreichischen Byzantinistik_ 40
(1990): 171-203, which provides a few more details but also does not
supply parents or a wife for Bardas.

Leo's wife Theodosia was the daughter of Arshavir or Arsaber Kamsarakan,
patrician and quaestor; anti-emperor in 808. While Toumanoff (1990, p.
274) doesn't give his parentage, Settipani's _Nos Ancetres de
l'Antiquite_ (1991, p. 192) proposes without discussion that Arshavir
was the son of Nerses Kamsarakan, nakharar (prince), whose mother was a
Mamikonian.
