Dear Patrician Triplett,
Out of principle I disagree with you.
We have a person who would have done what
you suggest and then have added :"If you
send it to the correct group I will answer
you there." I find that appalling---in my
opinion when a person asks a question,
if you can, you should assist. I did not
see your remark when someone asked for good,
cheap and convenient accomodation in Salt Lake
City.......if the Stadion family is off topic
surely that is!
Too many people regard some of the people on
this list as 'miserable so-and-so' and are
frightened to ask questions, your attitude,
polite or not, may well put you into that
category. As this lady was off-topic, we have
communicated directly and I have been able
to supply more information. I sincerely believe,
and you do not, that we should help each other
when we can, whether we wear the 'correct cap'
or not. If we all are snotty and show people the
door for daring to ask the wrong question, I don't
want to be part of that!
Another point, why were you surprised with
my reaction? When I can, I always try to help,
does this mean you only just have joined gen-medieval?
Best wishes
Leo van de Pas
