Leo, would you check this again? Faris p. 125-6 [Hankford] gives Elizabeth as
daughter of John ap Lewis of West Horndon, Essex and Anne de Montagu.

While we are on the subject of the Francis/Fraunceys families, I know that Maud
Francis' father Adam was mayor of London. There was also a Francis family at
Foremark, Derbyshire. Is the ancestry of Isabel Francis (d. 26 Mar 1452), wife
of Thomas IV Heigham (d. 21 Mar 1480/1) of Giffards, Suffolk, known beyond her
father's name of Sir Hugh of Giffards? I didn't find anything in the Suffolk
Visitations to illuminate this beyond that her mother's surmname may have been
Hemmys.
