While this may be a little late for Gen-Medieval, was wondering if any
researcher out there had come across a CLARKE family of Hitcham,
Buckinghamshire. I specifically have a Sir Francis Clark of
Hitcham(whose dau., Gressell, married a John HOOKE c. 1634), and a
Nicholas Clark of Hitcham(d.c. 1551). One of my historical references
says that Elizabeth I visited Hitcham, but don't have the exact date or
circumstances. Have not found this family in any of the usual
references, but as mine are limited, that probably means little. A lead
on this particular family would be appreciated.
Thanks,
