One of the references below has need of correction. "Peebles Ante
1600-1962" was gathered and compiled by Anne Bradbury Peebles and published
by J. Hughlett Peebles. It was published in 1962.

My part of the family has spelled the name Peebles for many generations.
Some lines of the family spell it Peeples or Peoples. Our roots are in
Peebleshire, Scotland. A family member, Dr. Lynn Peoples, is going to
Scotland to do more research before publishing a new book about the family.
