There is a lot of stuff on the net about the genealogy of British royalty
and nobility, and also of other Western Europan countries. But there is
nothing (at least, I have not found anything) about the genealogy of the
higher Italian nobility. Unfortunately, people such as Leo van de Pas,
Paul Theroff and Brigitte Gastel, who have made such efforts to make
information on genealogy available on the net, which is highly
appreciated, have not dedicated their efforts to Italian houses, and
others haven't either. Much of it should be in Conte Pompeo Litta
"Famiglie celebre italiane", a lot of volumes, I think, but I have no
access to these.
The book "Papal Genealogy" by George L Williams has a number of charts on
the various branches of the Orsini family, concentrating on family
relations of various popes. Unfortunately, these mostly show only the main
lines of descent, no spouses and also no daughters and younger sons. Yet,
if anyone is interested, I shall be happy to scan these and send the scans
to private persons - not to the newsgroup in general, because of the "no
pictures" rule. Please let me know if you wish to receive these.
