My french co genealogists refer to a brother of an ancestor as mon oncle 'my
uncle'
a sister, ma tante, 'My aunt' and so on. As we are speaking on the same
subject, it is easy for me to understand when one says that his uncle in the
seventh generation was so and so ..Isnt this simpler..and more familial?
