No doubt about his expertise. I know a very good cardiologist who does
excellent heart transplants, but I don't need one.

The doubt is about the frequency of the attacks he warns us about happening
in home installations. I am sure we could find isolated cases of damaging
attacks, as we can find muggings having occurred in cathedrals. But that
doesn't mean that we must take an Uzi into church. I wonder how many people
who tried Gibsons test found port 139 (printer sharing) open, which is a
potential vulnerability (if you run a Windows network) and had it open for
years and were never the wiser, and their systems remain intact, compared to
those who say "damn port 139, I've lost my shirt through it too many times."

Gibson is selling insurance, all insurance salesmen will tell you that the
odds are bad.
