He set out at Pentecost in 1147 to take part in the 2nd Crusade & returned
by 1152. M Humbeline (d c. 1138). Died c. 1158. He had issue: Burke's P

ERARD II, COUNT of BRIENNE (2)., M 1166 Agnes, d. of Richard II, Count of
Montbeliard, & Agnes, d. of Thierry II, Count of Montbeliard (See
BAR-LE-DUC). He quarrelled with the Bishop of Troyes but was reconciled,
1186. He fought in the Holy Land in the 3rd Crusade, & was killed at the
Siege of Acre, 8 Feb. 1191. He had issue: Burke's P 1970, p 217
