This line has been an enigma since it first appeared in
Moriarty's notes (from which it was uncritically copied by
Stuart). As best I can tell, the work on which it is based
has never been published, so we can't tell for certain what
was intended. As it stands, it makes Engilbert II, Count of
Brienne die seven years before his great-grandfather,
clearly an unacceptable solution. The same work derives the
Counts of St. Pol from Eudes, but I don't know if this
connection also suffers from chronological problems.
