OK -- I get your point.
I think I just cannot tolerate the idea of there not being enough facts to
know for certain. I would think I would get over this in time, but I never
seem to outgrow the desire to know for sure ...
When do you think these tombstones were erected? Around 1200? A hundred
years after the fact or more than that?
And as to the other stone with the error: "A similar stone relating to
Jimena, wife of Vermudo III of Leon, gives her the wrong parents. In the same
location as the 'French' Isabel stone is one of Jimena, Queen of Leon (wife
of Vermudo III) which calls her daughter of Count Sancho Garces of Castile.
She was actually the daughter of King Sancho Garces of Navarre (son-in-law of
the Castillian Count). TAF
I cannot find these people. What dates do you have for their existence?
