Theron.
Right!
Perhaps John Steele Gordon will clarify this for us.
He says he has an ascent from the Colonel John Washington who married
Anne Pope to Edward III.
The George Reade ascent to Edward III does not pass through Colonel John
Washington, as you point out.
Cheers,

| You don't, of course! My earlier post today was misleading. AAP,
| p, 180, does have a descent of GW from Edward iii - but though Mildred
| Reade, wife of the later Lawrence Washington and NOT through this
Lawrence's
| father . Col. John Washington.
|
| So if there's another descent from Edward iii through John
| Washington (m. Anne Pope), I'd also like to know what it is!
|
| Amphyllis Twigden. of course. has at least one traced ancestry to
| the ancient SPENCER family which includes the patrilineal ancestors of
both
| the Princess of Wales and Sir Winston Churchill, but this is not a
ROYAL
| descent.
